Abstract:
Herbert Gambrell served as the curator of the Dallas Historical Society from 1933-1976. His wife, Virginia, served as the director of the Hall of State at Fair Park from 1948-1976. The collection consists of records of the Gambrells’ research in Texas History, higher education, and other subjects. Formats include correspondence, drafts of book chapters, research notes, newspaper clippings, brochures, and photographs.
