Bagdad Cafe

I saw a thread talking about Miramir Museum on Cedar Spring referencing the Bagdad.

My mother and father owned the Bagdad cafe (cafe is misleading, it was a massive dinner club) in the 50's and it also burnt down in the 50's. It was a dinner club. The outside was covered in mosaic tiles which were imported. Inside they had a silk tapestry which hung (billowed) from the ceiling. My father's name was Walter Hooks. He was born around 1912. It was said the Bagdad was built with mafia money. My parents lived in Highland Park at the time. Ray Price was one of many many famous people who played there. He is the only one I know who is still alive. I would like to find out any info anyone might have and if you happen to know Mr. Price let me know. lol editor@goodnewpress.net (no s on new)

The dinner club/restaurant that was in Grand Prairie has a thread and numerous postings from several years ago in the archives here.

Try doing a search on the name of the place and you may find a lot of new information. (It may have been spelled Baghdad, also, in the postings)
