Are there any alumnae out there who attended Sears version of good manners, poise, and appropriate make-up? Fess up!
I have a cousin who attended the school at the Oak Cliff Sears location in the 60s. She received all sorts of grief about it from her male kin.

I wonder if this was offered at other Sears locations in Dallas or even outside of Dallas.

I did not know there was a Sears Charm School.
I went to one at Neiman Marcus (or Needless Markup as my husband has always fondly called them).
As best I recall:
There were less than a dozen of us from various schools.
We learned how to walk properly by holding our hands a certain way at our sides; how to apply makeup (and I bought a lot of the stuff from Neiman's) ;how to walk on a model's runway. etc
It ended with this "fashion show" - wearing our own dresses. Don't recall anyone being at the fashion show. except for us girls and our "teachers"..

This was at the Downtown Dallas Neiman's.

Reminds me though that in the early 80s Neimans at Ridgmar Mall in Ft. Worth would have fashion shows where ordinary kids like mine would show off clothes for them on a Saturday. Still have pictures (taken by their dad) of our two - boy about 6 or 7 and girl about 10) One time experience.

I never did one of those classes but I had a best friend who took one at the Wynnewood Montgomery Ward Store. That would have been in the early 70's.

I attended the Sears charm school at the Lamar St location in 1964, I think that was the year.
